Appearance and Character
Betha was known as Black Betha because of her dark eyes and hair. She was a spirited woman also considered stubborn or willful.
The daughter of Lord Blackwood of Raventree Hall, Betha married Prince Aegon Targaryen in 220 AC at the age of nineteen. Their union was a love match which saw no opposition as at the time Aegon was far down the line of the succession for the Iron Throne. Betha assisted in arranging politically advantageous betrothals for their four eldest children. The youths resisted Betha's and Aegon's plans, however, and the children instead married for love as their parents had done.
It is unknown if Betha was in attendance during the tragedy at Summerhall.
