When the Dance of the Dragons broke out in 129 AC, Ser Otto Hightower suspected that the Evenstar of Tarth may side with Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and the blacks. It is unknown if he did or if he followed his liege lord, Borros Baratheon, and supported the greens.
In 133 AC, Gedmund Peake and Ned Bean were sent against Racallio Ryndoon, the self-proclaimed King of the Narrow Sea. On their way to the Stepstones, they were joined first by the Velaryon fleet commanded by Lord Alyn Velaryon and then by Lord Bryndemere who brought a dozen longships to further swell their ranks. At Tarth, Lord Bryndemere told them Racallio had allied himself with the Archon of Tyrosh and the Sealord of Braavos.
