A Feast for Crows
Erik Ironmaker puts himself forth at the kingsmoot, where his champions are his grandsons. His gifts are of silver, bronze and steel. His speech gathers some support, but Asha Greyjoy demands that he stand up, which he cannot do. After that, his support crumbles and his claim is dismissed. Aeron Greyjoy later sees Erik shouting his support for Euron Greyjoy.[2]
A Dance with Dragons
While at Ten Towers, Asha learned that Euron, now King of the Iron Islands, arranged a marriage with his niece and Erik. Since Asha fled Old Wyk after the kingsmoot, a seal was used to stand in her place for the ceremony.[1] While Euron wages war on the Iron Throne, Erik is ruling for him as Lord Steward of the Iron Islands and castellan of Pyke.[3] Asha has no desire to return to her new husband.
