The north and the location of the Lonely Hills
The Lonely Hills are a series of hills controlled by House Umber in the north.[1][2] They lie east of Long Lake, south of the Last River and the Last Hearth, and northwest of the Dreadfort.[3][4]

A Dance with Dragons
Stannis Baratheon considers marching from Castle Black to attack the Dreadfort. Jon Snow, Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, warns the king that doing so would expose him to attacks in Umber lands such as the Lonely Hills.[1]
