Lord Darry was the Lord of Darry and the head of House Darry during the reign of King Aegon II Targaryen.

History

At the start of the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Darry declared for Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and supported the blacks. Lord Darry was part of the host led by Rhaenyra's consort, Prince Daemon Targaryen, who took Stone Hedge.[1]

Later on, Lord Darry alongside Lord Roote and Ser Oswald Wode lost a short battle against the vanguard of Ser Criston Cole's host on the lakeshore of the God's Eye. This was meant as a feint to lure them closer to Harrenhal and away from King's Landing which gave Daemon the opportunity to take the capital for the blacks.[2]

After hearing the news, Prince Aemond Targaryen, who had escorted Cole's men on his dragon Vhagar, became enraged and retaliated against the riverlords by burning their lands and castles. Aemond first hit Castle Darry where Lord Darry, his son and heir, and forty Darry men died burning on the castle's battlements. Fortunately, Lady Darry and their younger children survived the attack by hiding in the castle's vaults.[2]

Derrick Darry succeeded him as Lord of Darry.[3]

Blood of Dragons

In the approved on-line roleplaying game Blood of Dragons created by Elio García and Linda Antonsson, he is given the name "Jonothor Darry" and his son and heir who died with him is given the name "Alvyn Darry". Moreover, the game gives him relations to three canon characters; Rosamund Darry is depicted as his daughter, and Derrick and Roland Darry as his younger brothers. However, this is not considered canonical, and is provided on this article for informational purposes only.[4]
