Pearse Caron was the Lord of Nightsong, Lord of the Marches, and the head of House Caron during the reign of King Daeron II Targaryen.[1]
Appearance and Character
Pearse was a renowned singer and harper, and a skilled tourney knight. He was as skilled with the high harp as he was with a lance. He blazoned his shield with a silver harp on yellow, though his surcoat was patterned with the nightingales of House Caron.[1]
History
In 206 AC, Lord Pearse and Lord Dondarrion raised a host and defeated the Vulture King, burning him out of the Red Mountains.[1][2]
Lord Pearse participated in the tourney at Ashford Meadow in 209 AC, challenging Lord Leo Tyrell in the second tilt. They fought afoot with blunted longaxes, but Pearse was defeated after his axehead caught in Leo's shield. After Ser Humfrey Hardyng's injury, Lord Ashford considered naming Pearse as a replacement champion, though Prince Baelor Targaryen did not find it seemly to remove Hardyng as a champion. When Ser Duncan the Tall searched for a seventh knight for his trial of seven, Pearse ignored his call for help, whispering a comment to Lord Gawen Swann.[1]
