Saltspear
Saltspear,[1] also called the Saltspear,[2] is a long inlet of Blazewater Bay in the north.
Geography
The Saltspear opens onto Blazewater Bay to its west. Rivers from Barrowton and the lake by Torrhen's Square flow south to the inlet.[3] At the Saltspear's eastern end is the mouth of the Fever River, whose headwaters are in the Neck.[4][1]

A Clash of Kings
Balon Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands, plans an invasion of the north and declares himself King of the Iron Islands.[2] His younger brother, Lord Captain Victarion Greyjoy, sails the Iron Fleet up the Saltspear and the Fever River to take Moat Cailin, which lies near the river.[1][5] Balon styles himself King of the Isles and the North during the War of the Five Kings.[6]
A Feast for Crows
After King Balon's death at Pyke, Victarion returns to the Iron Islands with nine-tenths of the Iron Fleet for the kingsmoot on Old Wyk.[7]
