Talk: Capture of Harrenhal

When did it happen, relative to Ruby Ford?

I see that Gregor Clegane commanded this conflict and the Battle of the Ruby Ford; since Ruby Ford happened when Roose Bolton was leaving Harrenhal, it looks to me like the two conflicts would either be pretty close in time, or perhaps the Mountain caught Bolton's forces and then went on to retake Harrenhal. Some references to clarify that would be nice. LuisDantas 10:23, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

According to our entries, it seems like Roose Bolton leaves Harrenhal to Vargo Hoat, goes north to the Red Wedding. Gregor Clegane retake Harrenhal. catch up to Roose Bolton forces - Battle of the Ruby Ford.
Bolton tells of the Battle of the Ruby Ford in A Storm of Swords-Chapter 49, but unless i missed something we only learn of the retake in A Storm of Swords-Chapter 60. --Mor 15:37, 25 November 2011 (UTC)

Having read it for the first time right now, I am positive that ASOS Chapter 60 is indeed the first we learn of the retaking of Harrenhal. However, Tyrion's mention is: "There was still fighting in the riverlands, but everywhere the coils were tightening. Ser Gregor Clegane had crossed the Trident and seized the ruby ford, then captured Harrenhal almost effortlessly. So it would appear that (as far as Tyrion believes, anyway) Ruby Ford happened first. I see that ASHaber agrees as well and I also found few timeliness that support your observation. I guess we now need to update both of the battles entries, the War of the five kings and any other entry we can think of. --Mor 22:47, 1 December 2011 (UTC)
