Talk: Daemon II Blackfyre

Shouldn't this page be renamed to Daemon Blackfyre (son of Daemon) or Daemon Blackfyre (John the Fiddler)? Since Daemon never actually took the throne?--Rhaenys_Targaryen 18:49, 17 August 2014 (UTC)

Well to be fair neither did any of the other Blackfyre pretenders. If we give Daemons I and III their numbers I think he should get his. (Daemon III is mentioned in the westerlands reading, presumably by that name.) Especially if III waited until II died to crown himself and attack Westeros.--RumHam 04:02, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

But King Aenys' son Aegon is called Prince Aegon, not Aegon II, for example, and Rhaenyra is called Rhaenyra, not Rhaenyra I. Daemon the Pretender isn't called Daemon I Blackfyre either. None of them officially ruled, even though they tried to claim the throne. We can state on their pages that, for example, Daemon styled himself as Daemon II Blackfyre, and Daemon (son of ...Haegon? Son of a younger Blackfyre?) can have on his page that he styled himself as Daemon III Blackfyre. But they didn't rule, so perhaps naming the page Daemon II Blackfyre and (for the future) Daemon III Blackfyre, isn't the correct name?--Rhaenys_Targaryen 09:30, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

I was operating under the assumption that pretenders got numbers also. but maybe they don't, what do I know. Rhaenyra did sit the throne and still didn't get a number, probably because of Aegon II's decree. I would say maybe follow the worldbook's lead, but I guess we don't know for sure if he was called Daemon III in the reading of it that's just what History of Westeros called him in their notes.--RumHam 19:12, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

With the World Book only 2,5 months away, we can wait to see how all the Daemon Blackfyre's are listed in there :) And then follow that lead, I guess?? --Rhaenys_Targaryen 20:03, 18 August 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, that's probably the best plan.--RumHam 20:27, 18 August 2014 (UTC)
