Recent events

A Storm of Swords

When Robb Stark comes to the Twins to apologize for breaking his marriage vows, Lord Walder Frey has Jinglebell present when he receives Robb. Catelyn Tully interprets this as an intentionally insulting breach of courtesy. Regardless, King Robb compliments his father's bravery.[5] At the Red Wedding, Jinglebell prances about to the loud music. As the killing begins, Catelyn seizes him and threatens to kill him if Walder does not release Robb. Walder replies that he would readily trade a half-wit grandson for a son. As Robb is killed, Catelyn cuts Jinglebell's throat, killing him.[3]

Quotes about Aegon

Did he always wear a fool’s crown, or is that meant as mockery of Robb?[5]

Catelyn Tully's thoughts

Forgive my Aegon the noise. He has less wits than a crannogman.[5]

Walder Frey

Aegon, we called him Jinglebell, a poor lackwit never hurt anyone, Lady Stark cut his throat.[6]
