Aegon V was king of the Seven Kingdoms and head of House Targaryen from 233-259 AL. As the fourth son of Maekar I, himself a fourth son, Aegon was called "Aegon the Unlikely". In his youth, he served as a squire to the hedge knight Dunk under his nickname "Egg". He died, along with Dunk and his son Duncan Targaryen, in a disasterous attempt to hatch dragons called the Tragedy of Summerhall.
