Alan Beesbury was the Lord of Honeyholt and the head of House Beesbury during the Dance of the Dragons. He was the heir of his grandfather, Lord Lyman Beesbury, at the start of the war. He and Alan Tarly are remembered as the Two Alans.[1]
History
Alan's grandsire, Lord Lyman Beesbury, was the first to die during the Dance of the Dragons, although his cause of death is disputed.[3] Alan was unaware of his grandfather's death. Instead, he believed him to languish in the black cells, and loudly called for his grandfather's release. Alan fought during the war as a supporter of Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen and the blacks.[1]
Alan and Lord Alan Tarly (the "Two Alans") harassed the host of Lord Ormund Hightower after it departed Oldtown. Along with Lord Owen Costayne, the two Alans fought Ormund's army along the banks of the Honeywine, trapping the greens with a second army of blacks led by Lord Thaddeus Rowan and Tom Flowers. Lord Hightower's lines started to crumble and defeat seemed all but a foregone conclusion. However, Prince Daeron Targaryen joined the Battle on the Honeywine upon his dragon, Tessarion, turning the battle for the greens. Both Alans were captured after the battle.[1]
