A Dance with Dragons

Alynne is made a captive when Griffin's Roost is taken by Jon Connington and the Golden Company, along with her brother Raymund and their bastard nephew Ronald Storm. Jon feels that the three will make useful hostages should Ronnet attempt to retake the castle. When Jon orders that Alynne and the other young Conningtons be confined under guard, she begins to cry, and he tries to reassure her that no harm will come to her. That night, Jon has Alynne and the other young Conningtons as guests at the victory feast, in hopes of getting to know his relatives. However, when Ronald tells Jon that his father will kill him, Jon sends the children back to their cells.[1]
