Castamere was the seat of House Reyne. It was abandoned after the eradication of House Reyne by Lord Tywin Lannister.

Greatjon Umber captured the gold mines of Castamere after the Battle of Oxcross.[1]
A Storm of Swords
For the part he played in the downfall of House Stark, Ser Rolph Spicer was raised to lordship and given Castamere.[2]
