Daemon Velaryon was the Lord of the Tides and the head of House Velaryon during the reign of King Maegor I Targaryen.[1] Lord Daemon was brother to the Dowager Queen Alyssa Velaryon, whose children Maegor the Cruel fought against. He had several sons and daughters.[2]
History
Daemon was the admiral of the royal fleet for King Maegor I Targaryen. While originally on Maegor's side, he turned against the king in 48 AC and many of the great houses followed his example. He was one of the first to do so.[1][2]
During the reign of Jaehaerys I Targaryen, Daemon was named Master of Ships. After Rogar Baratheon was dismissed as Hand, Lord Daemon was raised by King Jaehaerys to Hand of the King. In 50 AC Manfryd Redwyne replaced Daemon as Master of Ships. [3]
