Biography

He has always been at odds with his brother, Black Walder, and considers him a threat due to his position as next in the line of succession.

Edwyn is described as not being a man of the sword, which could explain the lack of mentions of him on Robb's army during the campaign in the West. He was, however, part of the Frey army lead by his father that besieged Riverrun.

He attended the war council with Jaime Lannister and the Riverlords as the represetative of his house, due to his father's indisposition. There he faced the rage of the Riverlords towards his family and showed a sense of derision from Jaime.

After the death of Ser Ryman Frey at the hands of outlaws, he inherited first place in the line of succession. He suspected the death of his father was by the hands of his brother Black Walder and started to fear for his life.
