Edwyn Frey is the eldest son of Ser Ryman Frey, grandson to Ser Stevron Frey and great-grandson of Lord Walder Frey. He stands to inherit the Twins, although the long lifespan of the members of his family and the pretensions of his dangerous brother Black Walder pose a threat to his birthright.

Appearance

He is a pale slender man, with a pinched nose and lank dark hair.[1] His attitude is usually cold.

Biography

He has always been at odds with his brother, Black Walder, and considers him a threat due to his position as next in the line of succession.

Edwyn is described as not being a man of the sword, which could explain the lack of mentions of him on Robb's army during the campaign in the West. He was, however, part of the Frey army lead by his father that besieged Riverrun.

Recent Events

A Storm of Swords

When Robb Stark and his noble retinue arrive for the wedding of Lord Edmure Tully to Roslin Frey, Edwyn is among the Freys who come to greet the guests.[2] During the wedding, Dacey Mormont asked him to dance, but he steadfastly refused her. He was grabbed by Catelyn Tully who discovered that he had armor on beneath his tunic.[3]

A Feast for Crows

He attended the war council with Jaime Lannister and the Riverlords as the represetative of his house, due to his father's indisposition. There he faced the rage of the Riverlords towards his family and showed a sense of derision from Jaime.

After the death of Ser Ryman Frey at the hands of outlaws, he inherited first place in the line of succession. He suspected the death of his father was by the hands of his brother Black Walder and started to fear for his life.
