Dorne and the location of Ghost Hill

Ghost Hill is the seat of House Toland in Dorne. It lies on the southern shore of the Sea of Dorne, near the Broken Arm.[1]

Layout

Located atop a hill, Ghost Hill has chalk-white walls that shine against the deep blue of the Sea of Dorne. There are square towers at the corners of the castle, which has a great central keep. The castle's maester is Toman. There is a village with dusty lanes situated at the bottom of the hill.[2]

History

During the First Dornish War, Lord Toland sent a champion to face King Aegon I Targaryen in single combat. After slaying his opponent, Aegon discovered the champion was the fool of Ghost Hill, and that Lord Toland had disappeared.[3] Ghost Hill was quickly recaptured by Dornishmen after Aegon returned to King's Landing.[4] Visenya Targaryen unleashed the dragonflame of Vhagar on Ghost Hill after Dornishmen attacked Cape Wrath.[4]

Morion Martell, Prince of Dorne, gathered his army to the Tor and Ghost Hill in preparation for the Fourth Dornish War, but King Jaehaerys I Targaryen destroyed Morion's fleet as it crossed the Sea of Dorne.[5]
