Recent Events

A Clash of Kings

Yoren brings his recruits for the Night's Watch, including Arya Stark, to the town, planning to sail to Harrentown on the northern shore of the Gods Eye. They find the town completely abandoned amidst the War of the Five Kings, and the only remaining boat is rotted out.[1]

The group decides to spend the night in the holdfast, but they are woken by the arrival of Ser Amory Lorch, who is burning the town in his search for the brotherhood without banners. When Yoren refuses to open the gates, Amory has his men storm the holdfast. Before escaping through the barn's tunnel, Arya frees Jaqen H'ghar, Rorge, and Biter.[1]

When Arya, Lommy, Hot Pie, and Gendry return the next night they find blackened stones, shells of houses, the sacked holdfast, and dead bodies. After burying Yoren in a grave, they discover that Cutjack, Kurz, and Tarber survived in the lord's towerhouse.[2]
