History
The Brunes of Brownhollow are an old knightly family from Crackclaw Point.[1]
The Brothers Brune were legendary champions who brought peace to Crackclaw.[5]
Bernarr Brune was squire to Lord Alyn Stokeworth, the Hand of the King to King Aegon I and Aenys I Targaryen. When Lord Alyn was slain by the rebel Harren the Red, Bernarr cut down the outlaw and was rewarded with knighthood. Bernarr was later one of the champions in Maegor I Targaryen's trial of seven.[6]
During the Dance of the Dragons, the Brunes declared for Rhaenyra Targaryen. Brune forces joined Lord Walys Mooton to liberate Rook's Rest from the control of Aegon II Targaryen's greens.[4]
Brunes were with Rhaegar Targaryen, Prince of Dragonstone, at the Battle of the Trident during Robert's Rebellion.[5]
Lothor Brune, distant kin to the Brunes of Brownhollow, visited the family after his father died. The Brunes sent Lothor away, however, claiming he was not of their blood.[1]
