- Ser Bonifer the Good was a promising tourney knight in his youth, and shared a mutual infatuation with Princess Rhaella Targaryen. When she was engaged to her brother Aerys, he dedicated himself to the Faith of the Seven.
- Ser Bonifer was captured at the Battle of the Blackwater after fighting for Stannis I and submitted to the rule of King Joffrey I.
- Ser Bonifer and the Holy Hundred are part of Jaime Lannister's force sent from King's Landing to take part in the capture of Riverrun.
- On the way to Riverrun, the force stops at Harrenhal, where Ser Bonifer is named castellan of the castle during the absence of Lord Petyr Baelish.
