House Mertyns of Mistwood is a noble house from Mistwood in the stormlands. They blazon their arms with a white great horned owl on grey.[1][2] Their words are not known.

History
During the First Dornish War, Lord Mertyns and his entire household were poisoned by a cask of Dornish wine by Dornish assassins.[3]
Ser Michael Mertyns, better known as the White Owl, was a member of the Kingsguard.[4]

Among the gathered knights at the Hand's tourney is one with the horned owl of House Mertyns.[1]

The sons and grandsons of Lady Mary Mertyns initially support Renly Baratheon during the War of the Five Kings, with a grandson wounded in the Battle of the Blackwater. Since the Mertyns men are away, Mistwood falls to the Golden Company during their invasion of the stormlands. Young John Mudd and Chains keep Mary under house arrest and host Arianne Martell for a night.[5]
