House Reed from Greywater's Watch rules the crannogmen: small men who live in swamps and marshes from the Neck. Their liege lords are the Starks of Winterfell.
Their arms are a black lizard-lion on grey-green. Their motto does not appear in the books.

The known Reeds during the timespan of the events described on A Song of Ice and Fire are:
- Lord Howland Reed, Lord of Greywater Watch. Lord Eddard's old friend. Has not left his seat since returning from the Rebellion.
- Meera Reed, his daughter. A capable hunter.
- Jojen Reed, his son. A young boy, gifted with the greensight.

A Song of Ice and Fire
- Howland Reed was one of the six companions of Eddard Stark that went with him to the Tower of Joy, and the only one that survived the fight agains the three members of Aerys' kingsguard. Eddard said that he would not have survived the battle if it were not for Howland Reed.
- Howland raid is said to having remained on Greywater's Watch since the end of the war.
- Although the crannongmen did not join Robb's army, they were instructed to protect the Neck if the Lannisters tried to come up to the North.
- Howland Reed sent his sons Meera and Jojen to Winterfell to represent the family in the harvest feast and renew the oath to the Starks.
- Meera and Jojen played a significant part in the Starks escape during the fall of Winterfell, and accompanied Bran in his travel to meet the three-eyed crow.
