History

In 10 AC during the First Dornish War, King Aegon I Targaryen's attempt to conquer Dorne, Lord Fowler captured Nightsong. When Ser Addam Hightower led a strong host to retake the castle, Ser Joffrey Dayne marched an army from Starfall to Oldtown. Unable to breach the city's walls, Dayne had the fields, farms, and villages burned for twenty leagues around the city.[1][2] When Lord Manfred Hightower's younger son Garmon led a sortie against Dayne, Ser Joffrey slew the boy. By the time Ser Addam returned to Oldtown, Dayne's army had melted back into the red mountains.[2]

In response to Ser Joffrey's attack, Queen Visenya and her dragon Vhagar attacked and burned Starfall.[1][2]
