Lannisport is a walled city along the coast of the Sunset Sea where the river road, gold road, and the sea road meet, just to the west lies Casterly Rock.[1] This port city is one of the major ports of the Seven Kingdoms and the largest city in the westerlands. Compared to other cities, it is much smaller than King's Landing or Oldtown, but is in turn much larger than Gulltown or White Harbor.

House Lannister anchors its fleet in the harbor. The city is renown for its goldwork.[2] Lannisport is policed by the City Watch, which is known to be very well-trained, compared to that of King's Landing or Oldtown. [3] The city is home to House Lannister of Lannisport and distant kins to the Lannisters like: Lannys, Lannetts, Lantells, and other lesser Lannisters. Many of them have the yellow hair.[4]

History

Ser Quentyn Ball attacked the city during the Blackfyre Rebellion, slaying Lord Lefford outside its gates.[5] During the Great Spring Sickness, Lannisport was among the cities hit hardest.[6]

During the Greyjoy Rebellion, Lannisport saw both triumph and disaster. The ironmen cunningly sailed into the harbor at Lannisport and burned the Lannister fleet at anchor.[7] At the end of the war, in celebration of their victory over House Greyjoy, Robert I ordered a tourney to be held. This was the site of the Tourney at Lannisport, where Ser Jorah Mormont won the hand of Lynesse Hightower.[8]

Recent Events

A Clash of Kings: After the Battle of Oxcross, the shattered remnants of Ser Stafford Lannister's force fell back to Lannisport to regroup.[9]
