Lord Hayford was the lord of Hayford in the days of King Daeron II. He was made Hand of the King shortly before the Redgrass Field during the Blackfyre Rebellion, replacing Lord Ambrose Butterwell, who had done such a dismal job that many questioned his loyalty. Lord Hayford, however, had been stalwart from the first.
During the Blackfyre Rebellion, Hayford was a noted loyalist, and amongst the Knights fighting in the Battle of the Redgrass fields underneat the Hayford banner was Ser Arlan of Pennytree, and his squire Roger of Pennytree.
Lord Hayford died in the battle in 196 AC. He was killed by Lord Gormon Peake, who also killed Ser Arlan's squire Roger in the same battle.
