Lorent Caswell is Lord of Bitterbridge and head of House Caswell.

Character and Apperance

Lorent is a wispy, young man with two daughters.[1] Rolly considers Lorent to be a weakling and a weedy, pinch-faced sneak.[2]

History

Lorent became a page, a squire, and finally a knight in service to his father, Lord Caswell. Lorent had four sisters, but no brothers, so the other squires of Bitterbridge would barely lay a finger on him in the yard. One day, Lorent took a gift longsword from Rolly, an armorer in the Bitterbridge garrison, and told Rolly he was fit to hold a hammer, not a sword. Rolly then beat Lorent with a hammer until both arms and half his ribs were broken.[2]

Recent Events

A Clash of Kings

Lord Caswell supports King Renly Baratheon, and welcomes his army at Bitterbridge, where a great melee is held. This is where Lady Catelyn Tully meets with Renly, speaking to him during a feast held by Lorent.[1] Later, news arrives of the siege of Storm's End by King Stannis Baratheon. After Renly's assassination, Lord Randyll Tarly goes to Bitterbridge to take back the supplies that had been stored there. Lorent locks himself inside his castle, refusing to implicate himself any more.[3]
