Tarle the Thrice-Drowned claimed that Lord Maron had the best claim to the Seastone Chair during the gathering for the kingsmoot.[2] Yet, Maron is listed as one of Victarion Greyjoy's supporters at the kingsmoot.[3] After Euron Greyjoy is named King, he commands the ironborn to take the Shield Islands, leading to a great victory at the Battle of the Shield Islands. During the feast celebrating the victory, Lord Maron is named as the new Lord of Greenshield by King Euron.[1]
