A Game of Thrones
Ser Marq is one of the lords that Lord Hoster Tully sends to King's Landing with the survivors of Sherrer to ask the permission of the crown to destroy the raiders who were savaging the Riverlands. After the Battle of the Golden Tooth, Ser Marq raids across the Red Fork of the Trident.[2] He was raiding Ser Jaime Lannister's baggage train before the Battle of the Whispering Wood.[3] After retaking Riverrun, he sits at Robb Stark's war council, where he calls for a march against Casterly Rock, and also for allying with King Renly. [4]
A Clash of Kings
Given leave by his liege lord, Ser Edmure Tully, Ser Marq left Riverrun with his men to defend his lands.[5]
A Storm of Swords
Ser Marq was one of the seven nobles who launched Lord Hoster Tully's funeral boat.[6] He is also among the nobles from the Riverlands who accompanies Edmure to his wedding at the Twins.[7] During the Red Wedding he played a drinking game with Danwell Frey.[8]
A Feast for Crows
Ser Marq is held at the Twins after the Red Wedding, to the consternation of his father who believed that he would be returned should Lord Clement bend the knee. He was not, which enraged Lord Clement, who threatened Edwyn Frey at the war council during the Siege of Riverrun.[9]
