The master of whisperers is the king's spymaster and is a member of the small council in King's Landing. He is charged with getting intelligence from the Red Keep, King's Landing, around the Seven Kingdoms, across the narrow sea and other places.

History
Larys Strong, the Lord of Harrenhal nicknamed "Larys Clubfoot", served as master of whisperers during the reign of Viserys I Targaryen.[1]
Although not titled master of whisperers, Brynden Rivers, known as Lord Bloodraven, had a network of spies while serving as Aerys I Targaryen's Hand of the King.[2]
Varys, nicknamed the Spider, was the master of whisperers for King Aerys II Targaryen.
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
Varys serves as the master of whisperers for King Robert Baratheon and his successor, Joffrey Baratheon.
A Feast for Crows
Since Varys disappeared from King's Landing the night of Lord Tywin Lannister's murder, Queen Cersei Lannister appoints Qyburn as the new master of whisperers for King Tommen Baratheon.[3]
