A Game of Thrones
Lord Medger comes to Winterfell when Robb Stark calls his banners. He is accompanied by his daughter, Jonelle Cerwyn.[3] He is placed under the command of Lord Roose Bolton when the northern army splits. He is captured at the Battle of the Green Fork.[4]
A Clash of Kings
Tyrion Lannister unsuccessfully offers to trade Lord Medger and Ser Donnel Locke for Tion Frey in an exchange of prisoners.[5] Medger suffers from a serious wound taken during the Battle of the Green Fork and never leaves his bed during his stay at Harrenhal, where he is kept while waiting for a prisoner exchange. He eventually dies of his wounds. Arya Stark sees silent sisters take his remains from Harrenhal, with his body in a cloak of silk decorated with the battle-axe of House Cerwyn.[6]
