The stormlands and the location of Mistwood

Mistwood[1] or Mistfall[2] is the seat of House Mertyns in the stormlands. It is located in the southern rainwood[3] in Cape Wrath.[1]

Layout

Mistwood is protected by walls, a gatehouse, and a keep. The lord's solar is found high in the Tower of Owls.[2]

History

Lord Mertyns and his household at Mistwood were poisoned by a cask of wine during the First Dornish War.[4]

Arianne Martell visits Mistwood while traveling to find Aegon Targaryen. They find it held by John Mudd and Chains of the Golden Company, who keep the dowager Lady Mary Mertyns under house arrest. John has the castle's maester send a raven to Haldon at Storm's End.[2]
