Ollidor.
Grand Maester Ollidar was a Archmaester of the Citadel, keeper of histories, whose ring, rod, and mask were bronze.[N 1] He served as the first ever Grand Maester during the reign of King Aegon I Targaryen.[1]
History
Although King Aegon I Targaryen already had maesters of his own, in 5 AC he asked the Citadel for an archmaester to advise him on governing the kingdom. The Conclave selected Archmaester Ollidar; while exceptionally learned, he was also exceptionally old, and died less than a year after becoming the first Grand Maester.[1]
Notes
- ↑ Copper is the established metal for the regalia of historian archmaesters, per the appendix of A Feast for Crows; bronze may be an error, or the Citadel traditions may have changed over time.
