Owen Fossoway was the Lord of Cider Hall and the head of House Fossoway during the reigns of kings Viserys I and Aegon II Targaryen.[2][1]

History

During the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons, Lord Owen was loyal to King Aegon II Targaryen and the greens, marching with Lord Ormund Hightower's host from the Reach. After the deaths of Lord Ormund and his cousin, Ser Bryndon Hightower, during the First Battle of Tumbleton, the host needed a new commander to lead them. Old Ser Hobert Hightower thought that as the most senior Hightower left alive, the command should pass on to him. However, when Hobert took charge of the men, he failed miserably and the Two Betrayers, Ulf White and Hugh Hammer, took the command instead. This strongly displeased Ser Hobert as well as other nobles, Lord Unwin Peake chief among them.

One night, Hobert and Unwin organised a secret meeting with other lords and landed knights in the cellar of the Bloody Caltrops, an inn in Tumbleton. The thirteen assembled nobles (later known as "the Caltrops") debated all night on what to do with the Two Betrayers. Lord Owen was dispatched to wake Prince Daeron Targaryen and bring him back so that the plotters might inform him of their plans. Unfortunately, the Second Battle of Tumbleton occured before the conspirators could execute their plan, and Lord Owen was among the casualties of the battle.[2][1]
