A Feast for Crows

In Braavos, Samwell Tarly and Maester Aemon meet Xhondo, a mate of Quhuru's crew. Xhondo explains to them that he has heard about dragons and tells them about Daenerys Targaryen. Xhondo's stories make Maester Aemon strong enough to try the voyage with the Cinnamon Wind. In payment for the passage Captain Quhuru asks for the books Sam had brought with him. Quhuru knows he can sell the books for a good price to the Maesters of the Citadel. Quhuru also wants Aemon's chain. Sam refuses to give the chain and after some haggling Quhuru is satisfied with some of their clothes instead.[3]

During the trip Aemon dies. Normally the Targaryens burn their dead but Quhuru does not allow this because of the danger for the ship.[4]
