Lord Royce Caron was the Lord of Nightsong and Marshal of the Marches during the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons and the reign of King Aegon III Targaryen.[3] He had one daughter, Elenda Caron who married Royce's liege lord, Borros Baratheon, Lord of Storm's End.[4]
History
After the Hour of the Wolf, Lords and Ladies from all around Westeros came to King's Landing to assist to the coronation of Prince Aegon the Younger and his marriage to Princess Jaehaera Targaryen.[1] Since the newly widowed Lady of Storm's End, Elenda Caron, had just gave birth to a son, Lord Olyver Baratheon, she couldn't make the travel to the capital. Instead she sent her daughters Cassandra, Floris and Ellyn Baratheon to represent House Baratheon. Royce escorted his granddaughters to the city and acted as their guardian.[1]
After the coronation of King Aegon III Targaryen, Royce became a member of the council of seven regents that ruled until the child-king came of age. [3][1] Lord Royce, however, resigned his post in 132 AC to return to the Dornish Marches where the Dornishmen, encouraged by their new ruler Princess Aliandra Martell, raided and plundered the region.[4] He wasn't able to return to court the following year after the death of the Hand of the King, Ser Tyland Lannister, as he was still dealing with the Dornishmen.[5]
