Stonehelm is a castle in the stormlands and is the ancient seat of House Swann.[1] The castle is situated in the Red Watch region[2] of the eastern Dornish Marches, on Cape Wrath along the coast of the Sea of Dorne.[3]
Layout
Stonehelm's watchtowers are made of black and white stone.[4]
History
Stonehelm was built to oversee the Slayne,[4] a major river route in the stormlands.[5]
During the Vulture Hunt, Lord Orys Baratheon smashed one of the Dornish hosts of the Vulture King beneath the walls of Stonehelm, capturing Lord Walter Wyl.[6][7]
Fletcher Dick was raised in a village near Stonehelm.[4]
