Talk: Aerion Targaryen (son of Daemion)
From A Wiki of Ice and Fire
On the use of the Targaryen CoA for Aerion (and all other Targaryens before him)
In A Clash of Kings-Chapter 63 we learn that the three-headed dragon represents Aegon, Visenya, and Rhaenys. We furthermore learn in (TWOIAF or Fire & Blood? I can't recall) that the coat of arms was created by the inhabitants of King's Landing, and Aegon then adopted it officially. Would it not then be incorrect to use the coat of arms for Targaryens that predate Aegon and his sisters? --Potsk (talk) 21:07, 16 October 2021 (UTC)
- Technically yes, House Targaryen and its heraldry did not exist prior to the Conquest. Before that it was only the "Targaryen family" of Valyria/Dragonstone. --Thomaerys Velaryon (talk) 09:03, 17 October 2021 (UTC)
