The Rise of the Dragon: An Illustrated History of the Targaryen Dynasty, Volume One is a complete history of House Targaryen written by George R. R. Martin in collaboration with Elio García and Linda Antonsson. The book is a lavish visual history of House Targaryen.[2]
Contents
The Rise of the Dragon is a deluxe reference book about the history of House Targaryen. The book features over 180 completely new illustrations.
The book covers the same material as the first volume of Fire & Blood, but is rewritten in a more encyclopedic style, similar to The World of Ice & Fire.
For readers familiar with Fire & Blood, The Rise of the Dragon is primarily an art book.[3] However, there will be some new visual details that will be part of the canon, such as the colors of all Targaryen dragons.[4]
