Tymond Lannister was the Lord of Casterly Rock and the head of House Lannister during the late reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen.[2]
Appearance and Character
In his youth, he was thought to be one of the most handsome men in all the realm; lithe and slender, with long golden mustachios and hair of the same hue, always clad in silk and satin. However, it was said that he was overly fond of women, and even more fond of wine.[1]
History
In 80 AC, Ser Tymond Lannister was the son and heir of the Lord of Casterly Rock. Queen Alysanne Targaryen raised the possibility of Tymond as a suitor to her daughter, Princess Daella. He was the richest among the possible contenders and closest in age to the princess, but the princess was dissuaded by his personality. Daella eventually married Lord Rodrik Arryn.[1]
By 101 AC, Ser Tymond had inherited from his father. That year, he attended the Great Council at Harrenhal with a retinue of three hundred bannermen, men-at-arms, and servants. However, he was outdone by Lord Matthos Tyrell of Highgarden, who counted five hundred in his retinue.[2][4] Lord Tymond supported the claim of Prince Viserys Targaryen, a choice that would be remembered and rewarded when Viserys ascended to the Iron Throne as King Viserys I Targaryen.[2]
Family
Tymond was the son of an unnamed Lord of Casterly Rock.[1] He may have been the father of Lord Jason Lannister and his twin brother, Ser Tyland Lannister.
