Any chance the problem related to the recent issues we had with the server, as I dont see any recent image uploads in the log, or is it just a coincident and something with wrong on my side. --Mor 23:09, 10 June 2012 (UTC)

Copyright problems

Ok, I've look at dozens of the articles on this new wiki. If every article of substance hasn't been copied from Wikipedia, then I'd be very surprised. At this point, I think you may need to consider wiping the article space and start over. It'll be an abrupt solution, but it'll be the only one that'll be sure to get everything. Not to mention a big bold warning to not copy things from Wikipedia without following the rules. It can be done, but if it's not done right, it breaks their rules, which makes this site look bad. I'm sure everybody meant well, but sadly, I don't think they knew what they were doing. Mistermanticore 23:29, 25 April 2007 (CDT)

Search Suggest

Scafloc suggested that I contact you here. My question is why this wonderful wiki doesn't have Search Suggest. It's very handy, and even flatliner wikis like http://romanchurches.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page have it, at least a little. Thx. Have a good. Mike Fatidiot1234 05:23, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Hrm, good question. I will look into this. Have any pointers as to where one would find a Search Suggest plugin? Or does one need to upgrade Mediawiki? --Ran 08:21, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

Ah, it's a skin issue. Will look into how to fix this. --Ran 11:09, 11 February 2010 (UTC)

New Main Page

In the banner I have added the category for the TV series.

I made another change: in the last version the width of the banner was set to an absolute value. I changed it to relative values. For the title and subtitle below it is 60% and for the two category columns 20% each. With a resolution of 1024 x 768 or more you don't have to scroll to the right AND the text "Welcome to A Wiki of Ice and Fire" stays on the same row. What do you think? Scafloc 13:46, 2 July 2011 (CDT)

Excellent! Especially moving to relative width, I noticed that the absolute width was the issue but wasn't sure how to go relative. I think that will work very well, especially on mobile devices. Ran 13:49, 2 July 2011 (CDT)

Pages for deletion

Hi Ran,
here's a category of pages that need deletion: Category:Pages for deletion. If you could clear it out from time to time … or, even better, turn some regulars into admins to take care of it. Linda said that "the admin account" can't be used due to the invision link, but I'm rather certain that there are still ways to turn the sysop flag on for some editors -- if need be by adding one entry to the database.

error

Template talk:Targaryen tree.--Elevatar 03:58, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for noting this. Can you explain more directly what I should do to fix the problem? You mention something about row 99, but I'm not sure I see a problem with the Lannister tree any longer, at least. --Ran 10:31, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Unrelated to the problem at hand but the Template:Familytree category, should be changed from to

Hmm,it's so strange about Lannister tree with nothing problem, but I met the error just like Template:Targaryen tree three month ago ,in Chinese wiki page, someone tell me the error's point was row,and I changed the row form 200 to 190,it became right.Surely that is Template:Chart, but I think the error are same.--Elevatar 15:42, 17 January 2012 (UTC)
It still have the same error,Template:Targaryen tree.--Elevatar 02:23, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. I haven't actually changed it as of yet, because I'm afraid I don't know what exactly I'm supposed to do. If you can view but not edit the template source, could you use http://pastebin.com to provide a correct copy of the template which I can cut-and-paste in? I'm not that technical, I'm afraid! --Ran 02:26, 18 January 2012 (UTC)
WOW,I'm also a technical noob,I can't ensure what I said is exact.Can you take a try with

"|key_99=""|tst_99_ab=undef|text_99=|boxstyle_99=" cutting to key_90? --Elevatar 02:43, 18 January 2012 (UTC)

No reply?——Elevatar 02:55, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
Tried it, it did not correct any of the issues with the tree so far as I can see. --Ran 12:16, 20 January 2012 (UTC)
However, rolling back to ASHaber's last edits seems to fix it. I think that's pretty good. --Ran 12:19, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

Problems

Hi Ran, I know that you are swamped, so I thought to post about the Cite problem I have encounter, so that i wont forget about it and the info wont get lost. To put it short it doesnt work, clicking on reference does nothing, instead of jumping to the reference list below like it should(and vice versa). IMO the reason for this is that underline in the Id tags illustration, thanks. --Mor 23:44, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Okay, looks like it's fixed after I updated to the latest Cite extension. --Ran 23:59, 21 January 2012 (UTC)
It is, further more the new version has a very nice preview feature, which should make everyone life easier, I love it! --Mor 01:26, 22 January 2012 (UTC)

Anychance you can do the same with the EasyTimeline Extension? It hasnt been workign for sometime now, for example see the Template:Iron Throne, while it still show the image that was created last time, you cant make any changes to it or create anything new, while pasting the same code at wikipedia works perfectly. --Mor 10:55, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

Updated the timeline extension, but it does not seem to have fixed it. I'll look into it further. --Ran 11:08, 7 February 2012 (UTC)

I have a minor annoyance, the left side panel links to A_Wiki_of_Ice_and_Fire:Community_portal and not A_Wiki_of_Ice_and_Fire:Community_Portal, which cause an unnesary redirect. --Mor 11:54, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

Nothing I can change, it's part of a series of PHP renders built into Mediawiki. Only thing I can think of is to rename the current Community_Portal to Communit_portal to match. --Ran 12:11, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Great I see you fixed it, thanks. --Mor 13:51, 3 March 2012 (UTC)

I have recently started to notice an Error showing on user pages of few new users.

User account "Ser Aeron Connel" is not registered. Please check if you want to create/edit this page.

For example User:Ser Aeron Connel. Any thoughts as to what causing it and/or how to fix it, thanks ? --Mor 18:20, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

CSS

Hi, can you please add this css code to avoid unnecessary spam created by the citation. --Mor 20:59, 21 April 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for Fixing it, those reference sections are now readable. --Mor 23:10, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Another CSS change that would make the pages look cleaner is to add: "sup { line-height:1em; }". This will normalize the line-height for the superscript citation numbers, making the paragraphs look more even. --Visual77 15:56, 8 June 2012 (UTC)

Uploading new images
