Ser Vaemond Velaryon was a knight of House Velaryon. He had two sons, Daemion Velaryon and Daeron Velaryon.[1]

History

In an attempt to inherit Driftmark, Vaemond claimed the children of Ser Laenor Velaryon and Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen were bastards. Ser Vaemond, a nephew of Lord Corlys by the eldest of his younger brothers, had put himself forward as the true heir to Driftmark, on the grounds that Lord Corlys' chosen successor, his grandson Lucerys, was in fact a bastard. In response Lucerys' mother, Rhaenyra, had dispatched her husband, Prince Daemon, to seize Ser Vaemond. She had his head removed, and fed his carcass to her dragon, Syrax. His five younger cousins had their tongues removed afterwards by King Viserys I Targaryen for similar reasons.[2][3]
