Vaes Aresak is a ruined town in northern Essos along the Shivering Sea. It is located in the great forest south of Ib which includes the Kingdom of the Ifequevron to the west. East of Vaes Aresak is the Realm of Jhogwin.[1]
History
Vaes Aresak was originally an Ibbenese colony[2] called Ibbish, but it was abandoned when the Dothraki began raiding from the Dothraki sea during the Century of Blood. Khal Dhako sacked it,[3], but since it was taken uncontested, it is now known by its Dothraki language name, Vaes Aresak, meaning City of Cowards.[4] The Ibbenese have since built a new city called New Ibbish to the northwest.[1]
