Vaes Leqse is a ruined city in Essos in the eastern Kingdom of Sarnor, bordering the central Dothraki sea. It is north of Yalli Qamayi, northeast of Vojjor Samvi, and south of Vaes Athjikhari. Vaes Leqse is situated on the northeastern shore of a small lake, with a river running north to the Bay of Tusks.[1] It was originally called Gornath, but it is now known by its Dothraki language name, Vaes Leqse, meaning City of Rats.[2]
History
The Kingdom of Sarnor was invaded by the Dothraki after the Doom of Valyria. The petty king of Gornath allied with the Dothraki against other Sarnori kings, but after twelve years the Dothraki ruined even Gornath.[2]
Behind the Scenes
Vaes Leqse has not yet been mentioned in the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, only appearing in The Lands of Ice and Fire and A World of Ice and Fire.
