Ser Waymar Royce was a ranger of the Night's Watch and the third and youngest son of Yohn Royce. In the TV series Waymar is played by Rob Ostlere.
History
As a third son Waymar did not have many chances at wealth or land and so joined the Night's Watch.[1] He was escorted by his father north to the wall and stayed at Winterfell as a guest.[2] There Sansa Stark fell in love with him.[citation needed]
After being a member of the Night's Watch for less than a year he was given command of Gared, and Will, and set to track a band of wildling raiders. He was killed by the Others and turned into a wight during that ill-fated ranging. At that time he was about 18 years.
Family
Appearance
Waymar was graceful and slender, with grey eyes. He wore very fine clothes, which caused Gared, Will, and other men to laugh at him "in their cups."[1] When he was killed by the Others and became a wight, his eyes turned blue and his touch was icy cold.
