The captain of the Selaesori Qhoran is a ship captain and a merchant operating in the Summer Sea.
Appearance and Character
Tyrion Lannister considers him a mean-mouthed, flinty, kettle-bellied man with close-set, greedy eyes, as well as a bad cyvasse player and a worse loser.[1] He is a bookish man and keeps a collection of nautical poetry, a well-thumbed tome about the erotic adventures of a young slave girl in a Lysene pillow house, and the fourth and final volume of The Life of the Triarch Belicho.[1]
It is unclear whether the captain is a worshipper of R'hllor.[1]

A Dance with Dragons
During the voyage of Tyrion Lannister, Jorah Mormont and Penny from Volantis to Qarth aboard the Selaesoi Qhoran, the captain always emerges for the evening prayers led by the red priest Moqorro, but takes no other part in them. Even though the captain would prefer to be fifty leagues out to sea, Moqorro commands the captain to steer the shortest course to Slaver's Bay, forcing the ship to sail near the coast of Valyria.[1]
After twelve days floating in the Gulf of Grief, the captain orders the Selaesori Qhoran's boats to be put out to tow the cog. However, a storm strikes and the captain is thrown from the stern-castle to the main deck, breaking both legs as a result. The following day, the captain dies from his injuries.[2]
