The dusky woman, fan art created by Dimadick
|House Greyjoy (forcibly as a thrall)
Appearance and Character
The woman is quiet, biddable and compliant.
The woman's origins and name are unknown. She may come from Naath, as the Naathi people are described as having "dusky skin" and are widely sought after by slavers who consider them to make the best slaves.
A Feast For Crows
After Victarion Greyjoy turns Lord Baelor Blacktyde over to Euron Greyjoy, the new King of the Isles and the North, Euron gives the dusky woman as a bedwarmer to his brother. Victarion is reluctant to accept anything from the hated Euron, but he relents when Euron threatens to have the woman killed if he refuses.
Victarion has sex with the dusky woman in the cabin of Iron Victory after his victory at the taking of the Shields, and she treats his wounded hand with boiled vinegar. Victarion later confides his doubts regarding Euron to her. Euron tasks Victarion, the Lord Captain of the Iron Fleet, with sailing to Slaver's Bay and bringing back Daenerys Targaryen to be Euron's bride, though Victarion secretly plans to claim Daenerys for himself.
A Dance with Dragons
Victarion assumes that Euron bedded the dusky woman before he gave her away.
The dusky woman accompanies Victarion aboard Iron Victory when the Iron Fleet departs for Meereen. He keeps her in his cabin as his bedwarmer and maid. Victarion often confides in the woman, who never tries to talk back, and she continues to help treat his wounded hand.
The dusky woman and Victarion grow closer during their journey, and they continue to sleep together.

Aboard Iron Victory in Victarion's cabin, when Moqorro brings Dragonbinder forth, the dusky woman lifts up a lantern to give everyone present a look at the horn. After everyone leaves Moqorro asks Victarion if he wishes him to bleed him. Victarion seizes the dusky woman by the wrist and pulls her to him and tells Moqorro that she will do it.
I want none of your leavings.
—Victarion Greyjoy to the dusky woman
Euron's gifts are poisoned, the captain had reminded himself the day the dusky woman came aboard. I want none of his leavings. He had decided then that he would slit her throat and toss her in the sea, a blood sacrifice to the Drowned God. Somehow, though, he had never quite gotten around to it.—thoughts of Victarion Greyjoy
