House Farring is a noble house of the crownlands. According to semi-canon sources, they blazon their arms with per pale purple and white, two knights combatant with swords, counter-charged.[1]

According to rumor, Lady Annara Farring, the seventh wife of Lord Walder Frey, may have slept with Black Walder Frey, one of Walder's great-grandsons.[2]

A Clash of Kings
Bryen Farring, a squire to Stannis Baratheon, attends the king when Stannis burns the statues of the Seven at Dragonstone.[3]
A Storm of Swords
Ser Gilbert Farring commands the garrison at Storm's End left there by Stannis.[4]
A Feast for Crows
Lord Mace Tyrell begins the siege of Storm's End,[5] which is held by Gilbert.[6]
A Dance with Dragons
Ser Godry Farring is among the queen's men at Castle Black. He is nicknamed Giantslayer for having slain a giant during the battle beneath the Wall. Godry heckles Jon Snow in an attempt to provoke him into a duel, but Jon ignores him.[7] Godry leads Stannis's vanguard during the march on Winterfell.[8] Bryen dies during the march.[9]

- Ser Gilbert Farring, commander of the Storm's End garrison.
- {Bryen Farring}, his son. A squire to Stannis Baratheon. Died of the cold marching to Winterfell.
- Ser Godry Farring, his cousin. Called the Giantslayer.
