Jocelyn Swyft is a noblewoman of House Swyft. She is the companion and lady attendant of Queen Cersei Lannister.[1][2]

Character

Jocelyn follows the Faith of the Seven.[3][4]

Cersei Lannister considers Jocelyn to be timid[3] and slow.[4]

Recent Events

A Feast for Crows

A frightened Jocelyn is present when Dowager Queen Cersei Lannister receives news of the death of her father, Lord Tywin Lannister.[2]

As Jocelyn helps Queen Regent Cersei prepare for the wedding of her son, King Tommen I Baratheon, to Lady Margaery Tyrell, Cersei takes out her anger on her companion.[4]

Cersei is presented with the head of a dwarf falsely claimed to be that of her disgraced brother, Tyrion Lannister, and Jocelyn throws up when she sees the head covered with maggots.[5]

Jocelyn spends time in the queen's apartments with Lady Taena Merryweather and a handmaid, Dorcas, while Cersei is away for a small council meeting.[5]

Jocelyn and Dorcas continue to serve Cersei.[6][7][8] When Cersei dismisses Tommen from her presence, she often sends the boy off with Jocelyn.[8][9] The girl snores at night.[8]

A Dance with Dragons

When Cersei completes her walk of atonement through the streets of King's Landing and enters the Red Keep, Jocelyn provides a blanket when the Lord Regent, Ser Kevan Lannister, commands the naked Cersei to be covered up.[10]

Family

It is unclear how Jocelyn is related to the other members of House Swyft.

Quotes

Tommen: The gods are weeping for grandfather. Lady Jocelyn says the raindrops are their tears.
Cersei: Jocelyn Swyft is a fool. If the gods could weep, they would have wept for your brother. Rain is rain.[3]
