Joss is chosen to accompany Princess Arianne Martell on her journey to the stormlands to meet with Jon Connington. On the Peregrine, Joss finds Elia Sand to be too precocious for his liking and states that someone should spank her. Elia both flirts with him and challenges him, saying that he must joust with her first if he wishes to punish her.[1]
